Ruskeala marble canyon is an amazing monument of mining geology. Ruskeala gray with shades of marble was widely used in the construction of St. Isaac's and Kazan Cathedrals, the Marble, Tauride and Winter palaces. Ruskeala waterfalls are known as the place where the film "And the Dawns Here Are Quiet" was filmed.

In 2005, the film “The Dark World” was filmed on Akhvensky, a bathing scene of the main character of the film “The Dawns Here Are Quiet” (1972) and the scenes of the last battle were shot here.
